Modern Access expands – new depot and operation centre set to open in Eastleigh.
Modern Access has confirmed it will be opening a new depot and logistics operation centre in Eastleigh during the summer of 2017, in addition to it’s current operating centre from the parent-company, Blencowe Scaffolding’s head office in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
A division of one of the South’s largest family-run scaffolding businesses, Modern Access was created to run alongside the parent scaffolding company, but to use a system scaffold as opposed to traditional tube and fitting. The new division has expanded rapidly due to demand and this has resulted in Modern Access’s ability to be able to open a dedicated depot and operation centre.
The new depot facility will significantly increase Modern Access’ storage and distribution capacity to serve its clients in the region. The depot and its logistics are NASC compliant which are aligned with Blencowe Scaffolding’s own Gold Book compliance standards.
The new facility is located in Eastleigh, approximately 2.5 miles from Southampton Airport and 0.6 miles from Eastleigh train station. It is adjacent to major roads and networks, best for serving the 60 mile radius around the operating centre as well as being able to service the needs of both the Basingstoke and Salisbury parent company depots.
The new depot will be serving amongst others the Hampshire, Sussex, Berkshire and Oxon counties with their system scaffold and they will also be able to keep all clients up to date with their truck locations as they will be monitored by Fleetmatics, a real time GPS tracking system.
The new location enables Modern Access to expand its capabilities in the region and an opening event is scheduled for later in the summer of 2017.
